Independent Landstar Agent Mariana Gherzu was awarded with the 2017 Rookie of the Year Award at Landstar’s annual agent convention in April 2018. Although Gherzu is a “rookie” to the Landstar agent network, she’s not new to the transportation industry.

Gherzu started her career in the industry as a team driver. Eager to grow her revenue, she bought trucks and hired drivers. After a few years, she sold the trucks and worked for a broker but she was still hungry for more. She made the move to Landstar in September 2016 as an independent agent. In the short amount of time Gherzu has been a part of the Landstar network, her agency, ENM Transport, Inc., has generated more than $3 million in Landstar revenue.

“Mariana is committed to finding the best solutions for her customers and she will not hesitate to collaborate with fellow agents to make that happen,” said Rob Brasher, Landstar Transportation Logistics executive vice president of the western field division.

Eligible nominees for the 2017 Rookie of the Year award joined Landstar between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017. During the agent’s first full year, the nominee must have demonstrated outstanding revenue performance and excellence in customer service.
