Landstar awarded the 2019 Rookie of the Year Award to independent Landstar Agent Louis Rios Jr. this month. Landstar defines a rookie as an independent agent who is new to the Landstar network, but not necessarily new to the transportation industry.
“It is Louis’ experience, professionalism and determination that earned him the Rookie of the Year recognition,” said Landstar President and CEO Jim Gattoni. “During his first year in operation, Louis has demonstrated outstanding revenue performance and customer service excellence.”
Since joining the Landstar network in August 2018, the Louis Rios Agency, based in Helendale, California, has generated more than $2.6 million in Landstar revenue. Rios was first introduced to logistics during the 13 years he spent in the United States Army. Later, as a civilian, he used his military experiences while working for a third-party logistics company, before opening his own independent Landstar agency.
Landstar Rookie of the Year Award recipients must be part of Landstar for less than two years, demonstrate an outstanding revenue performance and encompass excellence in customer service. Nominees for the 2019 award opened an independent Landstar agency between July 1, 2018, and June 30, 2019.
