The careful coordination needed to move a replica Viking ship across the country required an expert in heavy/specialized transportation.

Norsvald LLC contacted Landstar for assistance transporting the 31-foot boat. Independent Agent Dan Lawry of Lawry Freight System (LFS) organized the ship’s journey from Anacortes, Washington, to the shipbuilding museum in Essex, Massachusetts. The cross-country trip took five days to complete.

“We tarped the boat, used the best equipment and obtained all of the permits. With the help of an experienced Landstar business capacity owner on this haul, the Viking ship was delivered safe and sound. Together we took great care of the customer and their high-value freight,” said Lawry.

The replica ship named Polaris began to set sail along the north shore of Massachusetts in June. Polaris passengers learn about Viking history while participating in team-building exercises on and offshore.
