Planning the logistics for a multileg haul needing 18 Landstar business capacity owners (BCOs), requires much of the same rhythm and flow found in the Cirque du Soleil's recent tour with Soda Stereo, Argentina's musical icons.
Steve and Kim Gullekson's independent Landstar agency Classic Van Lines (GTO) of Tyler, Texas, won the logistics bid to transport equipment for the famous entertainment company and its Sep7imo Dia tour.
Seventeen dry vans and one step deck hauled all of the lighting, sound and rigging equipment, sets, stages, costumes and props for the event. The BCOs began the 21-day journey this spring in Coral Gables, Florida, then moved the tour to Inglewood, California and the last leg headed back to Coral Gables.
